This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.
Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.
This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

Excellent extension. Love the easy customizablity!
Sometimes it just doesn't work. I click the toggle to turn it on, and it adds it to the site list, and it just does nothing to the page. It doesn't even switch to a checkmark!
Amazing! SO many websites stab my eyes with a wall a of white pixels. You can assign a keyboard shortcut, so I just press a few buttons and BOOM, any website looks so much better. I've rarely found websites that don't change, and even less that look buggy afterword. Really a must have for browsing on a PC!
Compatibility issue. As of Friday June 23, having Dark Reader enabled prevents me from logging into Smartsheet.com
It works in terms of being able to force most sites into dark mode but also ruins many sites, making certain elements invisible or just doesn't look good no matter which theme generation option I pick. On some sites it completely covers some elements while not working on others that other extensions never had a problem with.
Don't know if it was updated recently or something, but now on certain sites it just does not work. For instance it will black out the screen for a bit and then slowly load in the page, but the page will be missing a bunch of stuff. Besides that I never had any issues using it so 4/5.
Being able to explain how amazing this tool is is almost impossible. Simplicity and power are too much. I use it every day. Not because I'm against the white theme. But those who work all day with computers know how tired their eyes are. It helps a lot
Worked at first but over time sites would stop loading. This included major sites like Microsoft office admin sites, banks, etc. Had to remove it to get them to load properly again.
This extension is amazing. but in last update have bug in some website. Please fix this. Problem like in website: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/
I had forgotten that I installed this, and the lastest update is malfunctioning with company internal network. Many of the colleagues experienced the same thing. I am worried if this extension is not safe. 이 확장 프로그램을 설치하고 까먹었었는데요, 며칠 전부터 회사 내부망에서 크롬에서만 네트워크 에러가 나서 별짓을 다했는데 원인이 이 확장 프로그램이었습니다. 저만 그런게 아니었기도 하고... 해서 네트워크 위조를 하는건 아닐까 우려가 됩니다.
