This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

Does exactly what is says on the tin. Dark mode is not available for all websites but this amazing tool means it IS now an option for every website! Great stuff.

Not free, misleading. Excuse me? Can they be upfront make it as paid apps instead of mislead like this? I can straight up ignore this extension and not seeing this 'new page popup' after I install 'free extensions'.

I am so confused with this extension, I thought it's free (not trial or paid etc.) but today I downloaded this extension and got this new page saying: "Please pay for Dark Reader Today is September 19, and we're kindly asking you to complete the payment to keep Dark Reader going. For over 10 years, Dark Reader has helped millions of people with migraines, photophobia, and light sensitivity. Please make a payment now or soon after trying the app. Take part in spreading dark mode across the internet and help making the web easier on everyone's eyes." Excuse me? Can they be upfront make it as paid apps instead of mislead like this? I can straight up ignore this extension and not seeing this 'new page popup' after I install 'free extensions'.

Chrome kept freezing and crashing the last few days when watching streams or clips on twitch, youtube stopped working completely, turns out this extension was the problem. It works again after putting these 2 sites to the ignore list. So if you also have problems with youtube and twitch or other sites, see if this extension is the problem.
