This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

I have been reading for days on end on white web pages. This is the first app that allowed me to adjust contrast and brightness, not just being stuck with a few presets. Great extension.

Wonderful!! This Excellent Extension provides Lots of Benefits – – PRIOR to my experiencing the web with "Dark Reader", I was truly unaware of the extent that the Internet was BLASTING my eyes with In-My-Face STARK BRITE White. "Dark Reader" Cures that Blast. Another Important Benefit: Turns out that That Huge amount of White Light hitting your eyes Seriously Degrades your perceiving the abundance of Wonderful Colors across the internet. "Dark Reader" lets you easily select the settings that ENRICH your color-perception. { Since you’re already aware of how an unshaded internet hurts your rest (& increases your stress) I won't repeat those details here. } Also very important to this Non-Techie: "Dark Reader" was really EASY to set up!! And it includes very pleasant Help Screens (which I wish were just a bit more detailed). {{PRIOR TO my using "Dark Reader", I Had Tested a very different highly rated web-darkener, but I ended up having to Uninstall that one due to its Frustratingly Complex setup process.}}

Works exactly as one would expect. So far I haven't encountered any site compatibility issues either. UI is aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate.
