This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

Great extension! But I wonder, does this actually help with saving laptop battery usage by "turning the brightness down", or increase usage by using more CPU power to change the colors?

This thing makes some great on the fly dark themes, the Office online homepage looks great. Also as far as reviews saying it doesn't work on chrome store, certain pages won't change such as some University websites, I think it has to do with accessing the styling but overall everything works. I used this with Morpheon Dark and its perfect. The Alt+Shift+D hotkey works great if for some reason something doesn't translate well and washes out (maybe a text box). Also I have very few issues with Dynamic mode, can really only think of one time where it kind of flickered right at initial load but it was minor, it was pretty much equivalent to a screen tear in a game.

I like that we can configure the brightness/contrast/etc. However in several sites there are split second flash to the site original style, which makes eyes a bit uncomfortable at times. If Dark Reader can inject its style faster it'd perfect. Edit: apparently this problem only occurs in Dynamic mode. Thanks to the comment below (Monstruo Abajo) I tried experimenting. Static/filter mode works okay.
