This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.
Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.
This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

searched so long for a good way to turn bright webpages dark and this is it! LOVE IT!
I removed this after they decided start opening popup windows on their own. Thanks but I don't want you guys doing anything on my computer. The app should not inform me of anything. --------------------------- Edit Thank you. I know it may seem trivial but in a tech world where we have we seem to have no control it can be very frustrating. Thank for your dedication to your work.
Huge love and respect to Dark Reader for managing the dynamic changing landscape of browsers and site and in parallel managing trolls and fools who should recognize the spectacular work put into this extension. Eventually all 'sources' will provide Dark themes and modes, until then we can find our trust and functionality in a small group of dedicated humans. Thank you! - Sam
The developer of this extension pops up a page talking about Dynamic Theme mode, yet when you right click on the the icon, options is grayed out. Sounds like a great idea but I can't access the settings.
After the last update (v. 4.2.6), it's working on all sites that did not work right for me, usually heavy news sites with lots of interactive content and videos. Depois da última atualização (v. 4.2.6), está funcionando em todos os sites que antes não funcionavam direito pra mim, em geral, sites de notícias pesados, com muito conteúdo interativo e vídeos.
Hats off to the developer, this is a Top Essential Extension, with tiny footprint, but Big range of customisable themes which serve to make reading web pages so much easier IMHO. A++
I was working and suddenly browser opened itself and with the dark reader page donation page. I only imagine if I had an important call or presentation. That`s clearly security abuse and google should look into it!
Excellent extension! Really useful. But it started to open some ads in new tabs lately. Ads are theirs but anyway I dont like it.
Awesome...finally something that can make the whole web dark!!! Especially like the dynamic filter which only darken the white parts and not just reverses the whole site.
