This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

By far the best extension I've ever used on Chrome (and I've used a lot of them). What sets this apart from other similar extensions I've used is how easy it is to add a site to your invert/don't invert list. Alt+shift+A and bam, it's added!

Classic example of over-engineering. I'm running a brand new macbook pro w/ super fast fibre optic broadband and yet I'm waiting for several seconds every time I click on the extension symbol.. I've never seen anything like it. I don't even have to check chrome task manager to know it's eating up chrome's resources like a fat girl in a donut shop. Immediately deleted and went back to my Clearly + Deluminate combo.

The UI is just constantly loading, I can't seem to whitelist or blacklist pages, there's no way of easily switching it off an on. Uses up loads of CPU due to chrome filters, especially on large pages. Seems entirely unusable. Update: I originally gave it two stars, and then deleted it, but then when I went back through my tabs and saw that it had permanently applied the inverse() filter over every single tab I have open, I decided to reinstall it so I could downgrade to one star. I mean, wtf man? Seriously?

With this extension, browsing the internet is much easier on the eyes! The only flaw I've noticed so far is that some images can have their colours inverted, leading to me seeing some very demonic people.
