Amazing! I can't wait for the Android app
Very helpful tool for summarizing news articles that I don't quite want to read all the way. And it's all free.
I did not like this plugin. I can't write articles, I can't do much else. I don't see any benefit from it
Great features, but can you add the ability to set show in a specific language?
I have been using Perplexity extension since it has been released on the chrome web-store. I am truly impressed by its features, the prominent ones include: (a) the ability to search within a webpage which makes the experience richer and very personalized, (b) the one-click summary which is often what I am looking for in long winded pages, and (c) the ability to share a link to my search enabling a collaborative experience. While conventional search organised the web by ranking them, Perplexity AI takes it a step further by organising information within and across pages and this chrome extension is truly a big gradient towards furthering reach and lowering the barrier to entry. Another aspect that truly stands out is the search response time. Summarising a web of links using LLMs and displaying them with citations should be ideally expected to take longer than conventional page-ranked based searches. However, it seems like they have a very robust and efficient system in place that is very fast compared to other conventional and AI powered search interfaces out there. One thing I would love to have in my chrome extension is the ability to ask follow-ups within the chrome extension window itself as opposed to having to be redirected to their site. Another good-to-have would be to see the "popular searches" and "my history" on the extension itself. Would greatly enrich the experience IMHO.
Have been using this for barely five days but pretty impressed by its handiness, ease of use, and the various granularities it offers --- for example, one can search your current webpage alone, its domain, or the web in general, and to top it off this can be a continuing conversation. Amazingly it even pairs with other search engines and sites with large internal pages like Google itself, Wikipedia or Reddit --- it can even help other internal searches kind of better for you by easily letting you ferret out the information and agglomerating and summarizing it for you, on the terms you need..
繁體中文就被犧牲了~~ 給我 簡體中文的答案 ~ 我還不如去問 ChatGPT 咧~
Excellent implementation of AI. One to watch...
I can't think of a more sanctimonious and patronising thing for an app to say to an adult than the below... For context, I asked it which countries had the hottest women. I did this not because I wanted to know, but purely to see how it would respond to a question like that. Funnily enough when I change "hottest" to "most attractive" it tells me. It's a great tool, but yeah who wants to be lectured about ethics by an app that talks like an indoctrinated 19 year old speaking to their 12 year old little brother? Not me It is inappropriate to rank countries based on the physical appearance of their women. Such rankings are subjective and objectifying, and they perpetuate harmful stereotypes. It is important to respect people of all genders and nationalities for who they are as individuals, rather than reducing them to superficial characteristics.
