Thanks for providing a quick alternative! I think that the "block content on any page" is used to check network requests to determine when to act on an image?
Can anyone tell me what does "block content on any page" do? why is it needed when it wasn't needed with the other app that turned shady?

Cannot confirm the prior user's issue, extension continues to work across sessions. Migrated here as the Reddit Load Images Directly extension seems to have been hijacked/gone rogue earlier today, and this is a nice replacement.
Has to be turned off and back on again, every time you open a new browser session.
