This is the perfect app to have... it's solved a HUGE problem for me -- I really really hate that some web sites start playing video with sound automatically. I used to have apps to block the sound for Chrome but then it was a pain to turn it back on when I wanted sound. This, on the other hand, mutes by default, and allows me to turn on sound when I want it. Perfect.
Perfect! Does just what it says, and does it quietly. I can once again peacefully browse the internet without obnoxious ads suddenly blaring on a tab where I can't even find them. Ahhh...

It does its job, quitly and effectively. Not need to take any action. Every new tab opens muted and the user can unmute it by right-clicking on it and choosing "unmute".
Does what it says on the tin
Mutes everything except ads tabs which it didn't. Sad and useless...
It's a godsend, so grateful to the developer! A/V spam "news" sites can go spam themselves. It's sad that Google won't offer this as a default option.
Great extension. I wish that there was a shortcut to unmute the current tab.
I've been using an autoplay-disabling extension for awhile but it has serious memory leak and CPU-usage problems so I finally bit the bullet and removed it - and the sites I visit like CNN started blasting out video sound as soon as I opened a link in a tab. Looking for a solution I found this and it is the quality replacement I needed - I can live with videos autoplaying as long as they're quiet - and this does that! Yay! Thanks - though I doubt I'll use the white/black list feature (even with YouTube I want silence until I say "Go!") this extension is a real win.
