It's a great notetaker... when it works, which is unfortunately almost never. In the same week, I had it working flawlessly for one meeting and then fail spectacularly ever since. It's the cycle from hell. Click the Fathom extension and it shows nothing but a 'login' button. When you try to log in, it leads you to a connect your account button. When you click that, it tells you "Your Google Meet now has a new button! Click it to start recording with Fathom on your next call.". Click on that, and of course you can't use it because you're NOT LOGGED IN?! If it weren't frustrating, it'd be hilarious.

I’ve tested every AI companion and note-taking tool I could find, even running them side-by-side in my meetings to see how they perform. Fathom stands out as the only one that truly delivers a complete package. Its templates, accuracy, and ability to capture key takeaways and action items have exceeded my expectations—far beyond what I thought AI could currently achieve. I’ve used Fathom in complex meetings with multiple participants, both in-person and on Zoom, and it consistently produced clear, organized notes that identified who said what and highlighted key points. No other AI note-taker I tested could handle this challenge. Another beautiful feature which I haven't used much yet but know will come in handy down the line is the AI chat built into every recording where you can ask questions or ask for where certain things occurred in the call or what was said about certain topics and get a clear answer to your question without having to sift through the recording for that information. Truly the best companion out there.

If you don’t think fathom is worth the cost, your meetings aren’t worth your people’s time. One of my favorite things about this tool is the ability to ask fathom specific questions, and it gives you specific answers, instantly. Having templates like 'sales' or 'marketing' for how notes are organized make sharing them all the more useful for our team. Because the notes are tailored to what we're working on, they are 100x more likely to get read and referenced by both our staff and certainly appreciated by our customers and stakeholders.

The most helpful feature in Fathom is the quick and easy-to-copy meeting summary. Fathom also automatically prepares a task list, and most importantly, it effectively captures the key elements of the conversation.

LIFE SAVER! I have always struggled with finding balance in meetings while I navigate being an active listener, participant and notetaker. Fathom allows me to be fully engaged in my meetings and not stress about taking notes. The summaries and action items are so very helpful and the sharing capabilities are fantastic so I can share with other meeting attendees quickly and easily. I am in the midst of acquiring a business and have never had so many meetings in 1 month.
