This extension allows to find and delete duplicate bookmarks, empty folders, merge folders with the same name (within the same path), find no longer working and expired bookmarks and remove them easily.
Permissions explained:
1. Read and change your bookmarks(required on install) - required for core functions to work
2. Read and change all your data on the websites you visit(optional, not asked until you use Broken URLs checker) – to check if bookmarked page loads and doesn't return any error.

very clunky having to check mark every duplicate and click the trash can each time. Started out checking duplicates and then doing mass delete but that didn't work, ugh. looking for solution that works
I so wanted to give this extension 5 stars but alas no sooner were my duplicate bookmarks deleted before they auto reinstalled, regadless of the fact I had turned off sinc. Am I missing the obvious...? Do I need to offer my first born to Google to get this simple challenge fixed...?
Essential, been doing the clean up by hand and it's a nightmare (Chrome why are you duplicating stuff?) Also non only Chrome but myself I did duplicate. It's great. Maybe I would ask for an option to automatically keep *any* of the duplicates (I mean just one of them) when they're multiplied across folders.
