This extension allows to find and delete duplicate bookmarks, empty folders, merge folders with the same name (within the same path), find no longer working and expired bookmarks and remove them easily.
Permissions explained:
1. Read and change your bookmarks(required on install) - required for core functions to work
2. Read and change all your data on the websites you visit(optional, not asked until you use Broken URLs checker) – to check if bookmarked page loads and doesn't return any error.

Okie, it has found almost 1000 duplicated bookmarks, then, start going 1 per 1 to delete each ...!!! No filter, no search mode on found subsets, no sub selection based on folder ...
With 20000 bookmarks, it took a about 3h to find broken URLs, then froze at about 15000, all to start again. Found 1000 duplicates but requires to select 1 per 1 to remove them! Only Remove Folders seems to be OK (not checked), others are useless until now. Update: for a long list, there are those that are valid links but raised error or unsecure link, they are still useful and not to be deleted. There should be a SEARCH/FILTER to exclude from selection before deletion, which is missing.
Great extension. It would be interesting to add an option to hide urls with a hashtag in suffix of an url. Make folder paths more readable (alternating colors of folders OR the Separator (slash) with a different color : because sometimes the folder names themselves contain slashes: the result is difficult to read)
Very simple add-on, there are a lot of functions that can be added, but existing functions are enough for basic workflow, and they work flawlessly.

Very useful and works as advertised. Keeping it from a perfect score is the lack of Select All / Delete All bookmarks functionality outside of their individual folders where duplicate links and particularly broken links are concerned. I am working through a consolidated list of almost 5000 broken links and to call the ongoing process cumbersome would be an understatement. If the links are indeed broken, I am not sure why a quick purge button is not included and the only option is further manual evaluation required by the user.
