AI product readSecure locked-down browser environment for taking PSI online proctored exams
Enables secure, monitored online exam delivery by restricting browser capabilities (tab creation, window creation, extension enabling), capturing desktop/webcam/microphone, and providing real-time proctor communication during test sessions
User installs the extension, then launches a PSI proctored exam session. The extension activates a secure check-in flow: (1) system hardware/software check, (2) identity verification with ID photo, (3) agreements acceptance, (4) camera/microphone permission, (5) start test. During the exam, the extension locks down the browser (no new tabs/windows/extensions), streams webcam/screen to proctor, provides live chat with proctor, and supports break requests. After exam completion, the extension auto-closes.

- Target users
- Test-takers using PSI's online proctored examination platform / Candidates for professional certification exams, licensure tests, and other remotely proctored assessments
- The background worker and UI JS files are heavily minified, limiting ability to trace exact authentication flow logic
- Cannot fully determine if the OAuth2 flow authenticates the test-taker directly or uses service-to-service tokens after the user authenticates on PSI's website
- The externally_connectable localhost:50161 pattern suggests integration with a local PSI application, but the local app's role is unclear
MonetizationNo paid features detected
No evidence of paid features, subscriptions, premium tiers, or in-app purchases within the extension. All keyword hits for 'checkout' refer to exam completion (e.g., 'This test is completed. PSI Chrome Extension will auto-close in {{countdown}}'), not e-commerce payments. All 'pro' matches are fragments of 'proctor' terminology. No billing, Stripe, payment platform, upgrade, or premium feature references found anywhere in the source. PSI's exam scheduling is a separate business service, not gated within this extension.

- Reason
- The extension requires users to have a scheduled exam through PSI's platform. It communicates with PSI's OAuth2 authentication endpoints (hydra.bridge.psiexams.com/oauth2/auth, /oauth2/token) and auth token services (mps.bridge.psiexams.com/api/auth/token). The check-in flow includes identity verification (ID confirmation, photo match, reservation match). The extension itself has no login UI; authentication occurs on PSI's exam platform, and the extension operates as a secured proctoring environment once the exam session is initiated.
It was ok
very strict, and frustrating, the environment check took 20 minutes alone. And they asked me to check a trashcan when it wasn't even there. Same with a TV check that didn't even work. Very AI ish.
This was the first online examination experience in which I experienced significant anxiety. The proctor communicated exclusively through the chat function and did not speak during the exam. Verbal communication would have been helpful in providing reassurance and clarity, especially during moments of uncertainty. After reaching question 100, the system unexpectedly locked me out of the exam. I was required to log back in, which was both stressful and disruptive. When I inquired about what had occurred, I was directed toward technical support but did not receive a clear explanation at that time. Although I was ultimately able to complete the exam, the interruption and lack of direct communication significantly impacted my focus and heightened my anxiety. I believe improvements in communication and technical reliability would greatly enhance the overall testing experience for future examinees.
It was the best. The proctor was very nice and helpful. Although there were minor issues.
literally the worst proctors ever. I literally had to remove the most bizzare things from my desk. So annoying took me 20 min to even start.
i had done the compability check before scheduling online proctor exam the day of the exam took me 30 min to get the PSI extension i google it and got it that way since the link provided keept saying error, once connected took about 10 min for a proctor to connect with me but would only use chat... shy not talk it was strange, and then my phone alarm started ringing i ask in the chat can i turn it off? 3 times didnt answer so i did turn it off and i got a warning alert and it was paused for a moment, question 84 he had to fix because i wasnt being ablo to continue. But when i finish my 120 questions he says just finish. the cession, click the finish cesion button! im glad i didnt there was an exit button you need to click first so i asked and then you go into a bad survey then you click finish and exit, thats it. losyt of questions badly formulated and several about same thing, some that are not even a thing... little bit like the study guide and exams dont mach with same info same here...
Worst experience. I kept getting transferred to new proctors. They made me recheck my space 5 times. It was infuriating.
Kept getting kicked out of the test.
It is not my favorite but I understand the extreme strictness of the exam I had to take. I was very fortunate that almost everything went smoothly, there was a 1 minute crash that I had experience during my last 10 min of my test
Honestly, I wish I could leave less!!!!! my experience was horrible for some reason the proctors kept getting kicked out (which I made sure my end was perfect before I started) but kept saying it's a problem on my end which I know it wasn't. so, I kept having to wait for a new proctor to check my room and each one found a new problem which pushed me back so when I asked about the clear problem, I was just told I got to call custom support. Don't forget you have to wait forever just for a response.
