AI product readSecure locked-down browser environment for taking PSI online proctored exams
Enables secure, monitored online exam delivery by restricting browser capabilities (tab creation, window creation, extension enabling), capturing desktop/webcam/microphone, and providing real-time proctor communication during test sessions
User installs the extension, then launches a PSI proctored exam session. The extension activates a secure check-in flow: (1) system hardware/software check, (2) identity verification with ID photo, (3) agreements acceptance, (4) camera/microphone permission, (5) start test. During the exam, the extension locks down the browser (no new tabs/windows/extensions), streams webcam/screen to proctor, provides live chat with proctor, and supports break requests. After exam completion, the extension auto-closes.

- Target users
- Test-takers using PSI's online proctored examination platform / Candidates for professional certification exams, licensure tests, and other remotely proctored assessments
- The background worker and UI JS files are heavily minified, limiting ability to trace exact authentication flow logic
- Cannot fully determine if the OAuth2 flow authenticates the test-taker directly or uses service-to-service tokens after the user authenticates on PSI's website
- The externally_connectable localhost:50161 pattern suggests integration with a local PSI application, but the local app's role is unclear
MonetizationNo paid features detected
No evidence of paid features, subscriptions, premium tiers, or in-app purchases within the extension. All keyword hits for 'checkout' refer to exam completion (e.g., 'This test is completed. PSI Chrome Extension will auto-close in {{countdown}}'), not e-commerce payments. All 'pro' matches are fragments of 'proctor' terminology. No billing, Stripe, payment platform, upgrade, or premium feature references found anywhere in the source. PSI's exam scheduling is a separate business service, not gated within this extension.

- Reason
- The extension requires users to have a scheduled exam through PSI's platform. It communicates with PSI's OAuth2 authentication endpoints (hydra.bridge.psiexams.com/oauth2/auth, /oauth2/token) and auth token services (mps.bridge.psiexams.com/api/auth/token). The check-in flow includes identity verification (ID confirmation, photo match, reservation match). The extension itself has no login UI; authentication occurs on PSI's exam platform, and the extension operates as a secured proctoring environment once the exam session is initiated.
test kept stopping and starting over, I had to keep reverifying my test area. I was so drained by the time I actually got to test....
Test kept stopping and trouble loading mulitple times. Tech support was not very helpful either. Very faulty system with lots of bugs.
Will never do another proctored exam if PSI is handling it. Sneeze, violation; Cough, violation for covering my mouth; learned forward because I was having trouble seeing my screen; violation because they couldn't see my mouth; tried to figure out coinsurance on my approved scrap paper, violation because I looked down. I would have done it in person if they had a site in Missouri or someplace closer than Springfield, IL. I live south of St. Louis. How you concentrate when you are getting violations every time you breathe. Absolutely ridiculous.
Proctor gave clear directions and check-in didn't take long at all. Chat option is convenient.
absolutely annoying was told i couldn't have a hair tie on my arm was told i couldn't read the questions aloud to myself was told i couldn't chew on anything i fidget when i test it helps me concentrate this person watching me test kept interrupting me while i was testing because i was fidgeting and i told them prior to the test. it took 45 minutes to start the test because they wanted to see everything in the room i was on my bed with a blanket and was told i needed to remove the blanket. i'm testing in my home and was told i couldn't vape while testing too insane cause again this is my home. most annoying at home testing i've ever done.
The worst proctor I have ever had in my life genuinely what was that. Proctor was so rude and made me take my periodic table poster off my bedroom wall for a medical assistant exam that had zero chemistry in involved. They kept making me show my room and wouldn't start my test after almost 30 minutes of the same thing over and over. The person didn't type very good English either.
I NEVER want to take an online proctored test again !! My laptop is less than a year old & after downloading their secure browser my microphones would not work. I called tech support who I could not understand due to his accent. He also seemed to have no urgency to help. He eventually got my microphones fixed & I was able to enter my test. The proctor seemed rude (hard to say though because you are chatting and not on video). I had to scan the room multiple times because they said floor to ceiling. I was in a travel trailer so not much to show. I got a warning for being out of camera view because I leaned over to fix my sitting position. Overall, I was not impressed & the stress of setting up for the exam could have been eased by the tech person & my proctor.
If I could give zero stars I would. Their system check would not work even though my computer was within their standards and I had done a system check prior I had to call tech support and luckily they were able to get me into my exam, and were really nice. I then got half way through my exam and it kicked me out I had to call tech support again just to get back in. The proctors were rude and took forever to do replies, I got in trouble because my dog came downstairs because we don't have a door to our basement and they told me if she came down again I would get a violation. They made me remove my EMPTY garbage can, and my printer that wasn't even on and had no paper in it. The one proctor was questioning me about exposed piping on my ceiling because I live in an old house it's not covered. I get they have to make sure no one is cheating and that's great, but I think they need to lighten up a lot!
Great!
Connecting was the worse! But each of the representatives from tech support were extremely nice.
