This extension stops YouTube HTML5 and Flash players from auto-buffering videos. Using this add-on (extension) you can save bandwidth and also prevent YouTube on multiple tabs from buffering media simultaneously.
You will have to click on the player to allow buffering of the media files. Once a player is buffered, it can play multiple tracks. There is no need to activate the player on each new track (so you can easily watch playlists for instance).
Features:
1. Stop auto-playing on "/watch?v=" pages
2. Stop auto-playing on "/user/" pages
3. Stop auto-playing on "/channel/" pages

nice
At first it was not bad, though often the vid starts, then the page reloads and then it stops buffering. Yes, even this can kill bandwidth for those of us on metered connections. Also often the comments and other sections of the page do not load. But lately, the past few days it barely works at all -- most of the time the vid is playing in totally white page, and cannot be stopped, after a few minutes it may or MAY NOT reload the page/player and stop the buffering. Something broke it seems.
I am a preferred Firefox user. However there are time I need to use Chrome. And this extension did exactly what it should do which is, stop youtube video from autoplaying when opening new tabs.
Not working... please update!
THANKKKKKKKKKK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I HAVE SLOW INTERNET SO WHEN I OPEN 3 OR 4 VIDEOS I CAN T SEE NON OF THEM AND I HAVE TO KEEP WAITING TO SCROLL BUT NOW IT IS FIXED SO TY
Give us an option so that we can stop buffering a running video. it initially stops buffer but after I play the video the buffer can't be stopped, I have to close tab to save my data (Band width). My point is, I want to stop buffering and stay in the tab (without closing it).
it works on videos already qued up such as a playlist but not all videos. the controls seemed to disappear when I loaded a video.
Works only in Background Tab
not working on some videos
Works great. Chrome 59.0.3071.86, Win 10 (64 bit)
