Try h264ify if YouTube videos stutter, take up too much CPU, eat battery life, or make your laptop hot.
By default, YouTube streams VP8/VP9 encoded video. However, this can cause problems with less powerful machines because VP8/VP9 is not typically hardware accelerated.
In contrast, H.264 is commonly hardware accelerated by GPUs, which usually means smoother video playback and reduced CPU usage. h264ify makes YouTube stream H.264 videos instead of VP8/VP9 videos.
Note: 4K and 1440p videos will not be available because YouTube no longer encodes those videos in H.264

와 진짜 혁신이다. 솔직히 tv 유툽용으로 최신컴 사기 진짜 아까운데 이 앱 하나로 구형컴으로 유튜브 볼수 있음. 그것도 저전력으로, 강추! 당연히 4k부터는 h.264 코덱이 지원 안함. FHD 60hz 까진 똥컴으로 문제없음.

Увы расширение начало ломать ютуб, выбивает ошибку и помогает только перезагрузка страницы, тогда видео начинает воспроизводиться. Надеюсь поправите в скором времени, расширение мастхев для слабых компьютеров.
Installing this disables the ability to view videos at higher than 1080p so it's pretty much useless for me. I get what it's for, but you should have the option to watch in higher resolutions. It should also plainly indicate in the extension description that you won't be able to watch in higher resolutions.
Сегодня ни с того ни с сего стало выбивать ошибку при открытии видео. "Повторите попытку позже. Идентификатор воспроизведения...". Причем после перезагрузки страница она исчезала. Минут 30 искал проблему, потому что расширение стояло во всех браузерах. Путем отключения расширений поочередно была найдена проблема. Собственно, оно и к лучшему, ставил его давно, когда пк не вывозил видео в 60 фпс, сейчас уже обновил, а выключить расширение забыл, так и стояло несколько лет))
