Try h264ify if YouTube videos stutter, take up too much CPU, eat battery life, or make your laptop hot.
By default, YouTube streams VP8/VP9 encoded video. However, this can cause problems with less powerful machines because VP8/VP9 is not typically hardware accelerated.
In contrast, H.264 is commonly hardware accelerated by GPUs, which usually means smoother video playback and reduced CPU usage. h264ify makes YouTube stream H.264 videos instead of VP8/VP9 videos.
Note: 4K and 1440p videos will not be available because YouTube no longer encodes those videos in H.264

UN GOLPE BAJO A LA OBSOLESCENCIA PROGRAMADA. Con una PC de escritorio del año 2010. Con procesador AMD de 4 núcleos a 3.1GHz y una pantalla HD 720p, todos los videos de YouTube me ponian el CPU al 100% y se trababa los videos en 720p, 1080p. Con esta extensión me salvó de tener que comprar una motherboard nueva o placa gráfica dedicada. A la que tengo ya le habia puesto SSD y mas RAM. Y aun asi laggeaba. Ojalá haya mas softwares así.
Puedo ver videos en HD en mi pc vieja, con eso soy feliz :,3
yo sin el complemento solo podia ver los videos estables hasta 480p o 720p y sin 60 fps. pero con el complemento podia ver los videos en 1080p sin 60 fps estable y 720p en 60 fps estable.
