This extension measures the dimensions from your mouse pointer up/down and left/right until it hits a border. So if you want to measure distances between elements on a website this is perfect. It doesn't really work with images because there the colors change a lot pixel to pixel.

Es funktioniert Super! @AndisPez: go to chrome://extensions/ and click "shortcuts" (bottom-left corner) there you'll find it
WARNING: Causes a conflict with GMAIL! For me, it caused an infinite loading loop on Gmail.
Doesn't work on a retina screen. The cross just wiggles around the screen and doesn't really snap to anything.
Great extension! Now I can faster measure and correct things on my projects.
I don't get how this is supposed to be useful. Any halfway modern website is full of hidden elements that the measure picks up. Instead of the visible things I'd be interested in.
This is pretty neat! The only thing I don't like right off the bat is that it follows the contours of letters in text. That's interesting to play with, but I don't find it very useful. It would be more useful for web development if it just followed the element's box boundary.

This is perfect, that's what I needed. Just a minor issue, after zoom-in this plugin doesn't work correctly. But that doesn't stops me from giving it 5 stars. Kudos.
