When you install Scholar Reader, PDFs on all sites will have a new look in Chrome. To make this happen, Chrome will ask for permissions to read and change data on all sites. Scholar Reader makes no changes other than the presentation of PDFs.
• Preview references as you read. Click the in-text citation to see a summary and find the PDF.
• Read faster with the AI outline. Get a quick overview and click on interesting bullets to jump within the paper.
• Highlight and comment on PDFs. Highlights are saved to your Scholar library.
• Make it right for your eyes with light, dark, and night modes.
• Copy and paste common citation formats without leaving the paper.

Genuinely incredible. Fulfilled every requirement that I had where every other reader had one issue or another. - Works with web PDFs that require authentication, - Reads local PDFs, - Allows Gemini in Chrome to read, - Has inversion dark mode, - Has a button to revert to native reader at will Crazy underrated extension!
This tool is amazing; fills the void where every other PDF reader failed to anticipate this problem.
Please add the Google Dictionary into it because Google Dictionary does not activate while i'm use this google scholar pdf reader
It doesn’t display PDFs at all. PDFs load normally once I disable this extension. With it enabled, the viewer is completely blank — only a black top bar, a dark gray left bar, and a gray background with a blue loading bar stuck underneath. Basically unusable.
This is a really nice extension! It would be cooler if I can save the annotations in the local machine so that I can check them offline environments. Also a function to search the annotation would be great.
Sometimes it doesn't login. Also there is no offline synchronisation for the highlights, meaning you can't print the highlighted paper.
Great extension. I suggest to implement sentence highlight read assistant. A highlight marker that select a phrase between end points to help to concentrate the read in that sentence. Furthermore, improve the google drive integration is necessary.
