This extension will make mailto: links open in a Gmail compose window. Nothing more, nothing less.
* Supports Google Apps accounts
* Works on javascript-inserted links
* Includes option of working on bcc: fields
It supports to, cc, subject, and body (and optionally bcc) fields, and is made to be compatible with RFC2368, the mailto: scheme standard.
It doesn't modify the mailto:address itself, so you can still see the link in the status bar when you hover over it, which allows you to easily read the target at a glance.

I tried the other mailto apps but this is the only one which opened a new tab with a Gmail compose window. Don't know what the others are doing, they offered no config help.

It just doesn't work. Pointless.
I'm so glad that it finally occurred to me that there may be an extension to redirect "mailto:" links to my Gmail. I love this extension!

Excellent, je regrette juste qu'il ouvre une nouvelle connexion temporaire gmail sans voir que gmail est déjà ouvert, mais pas grave. Gros plus : le message est bien placé dans dans la boîte messages envoyés.
