High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

Doesn't work at all for me.
白地のページは効き目瞑って薄目にならないと見れないほど光が苦手なので本当に助かる、反転した黒が痛いのでセピアとか白くなった色を灰色にするのとかあってもいいかも。 このページを反転できないのは罠。
I desperately need this extension for accessibility, but the way it is currently written it interferes with javascript code on about 50% of the sites I use, meaning I have to turn it off on the regular, and there is no indication that it is the problem, it is only by turning it off that you come to realize it is conflicting with the site javascript. I wish this would work, as the contract functionality is critically needed. I am on a Mac
This extension breaks websites including Bing despite setting to normal contrast. I have emailed the developers with the details, but no response. Is it because Bing is a competitor?
Works really well with one exception: There is a bug in Google Docs where you cannot touch any of the toolbar items or anything in the ribbon unless you are at the top of the document or you disable the extension.
Delighted High Contrast is back working on Chrome as it is the best by far for me (with low vision and other vision issues) to be able to enjoy the internet - changing Chrome to dark mode doesn't work always and this extension saves me so often! Thanks!!
I'm so glad this is back! I used it for years and then it was abandoned but it seems like It works again. I have blue cone monochromacy and this helps me so much!!
Google forced the removal of this extension - popular and with 13+ years of history. Now we can switch to random new fork for "safety"? Dark mode was useful, also high contrast (making thin gray fonts bold and black). This functionality should be added to Chrome years ago...
Simply one of the MOST USEFUL extensions I've ever used ... sigh ... HATE GREY TEXT on websites.
It's been abandoned. Developer sites a fake email address. I don't trust the MV3 new versions by unknowns. Many Chrome extensions with few downloads are in fact malicious or counterift and Google is doing nothing even though you report them. One bug I noticed with the original High Contrast extension is that for specific websites it uses that as the default setting even though there is a per website customization option. Shift F12 doesn't work.
