Awesome until the last update. Would not let me export months of history. Then reinstall reset db, and I lost everything!! :( Ended up side loading previous version, https://www.crx4chrome.com/crx/1080/ Very disappointing for such a awesome extensions to go down in flames like this.
changing my review to a positive on. Suggestions: - should keep pinned tabs + groups for edge - should allow to sync to another browser
I would like to go back to the previous version! I preferred the management of the history of the old version. The new mechanism is of no use to me now. 1) I used to use the browser's closed collections a lot, but now they end up with snapshots and I don't like that. 2) History elements cannot be merged. 3) It is not possible to delete individual items from the history.
4.0 is objectively just worse. no fast deleting tabs, command + b issue, poor UX. please revert, this is horrible.
Review previous version: 5 stars BUT, upgrade to version 4 automatically... all history lost except the current session! Instead of making an automatic backup, the tool loses all data from the previous version. If you did never make an export of your session, all history will be lost without a warning. That's why I removed 2 stars, but continuing to test the new version. Browser Chrome/Win11Pro
Nooo, why on earth did you quit all the so convenient options and features like tab count and all these kinda stuffs ??? This was so convenient & useful I am in full depression mode since this recent update PLEASE get back to the old version and above all to all the old options quick and fast It "used to be" my favorite browser extension, reason why I mark it with 5 stars though
In this new version of Session Buddy, the search no longer works for the Session Buddy history, it only works for collections. The search lost a resource that was essential, and I don't see the point of the search not researching the history further. I hope you consider doing the search, re-searching Session Buddy's history. The other features and the UI have become more beautiful and pleasant. Thanks.
As others have said, this update is the worst. The previous design was simple, easy, and was practical. This new design has limited functionality, poor design and UI, and generally frustrating for a user. To plugin developers: Please, listen to user feedback, and go back to the old design and functionality!
This update is terrible and breaking my workflow. The recent update added a keyboard shortcut without asking with no clear way to remove it! I've found where it has to be changed, but the settings are not preserved. I don't understand how it was possible to decide to use CMD+B globally in Chrome when it is used in all Google Docs suite to make the text bold. Uninstalling.
A UI upgrade with less functionality and worse UX is a downgrade. Deploying a downgrade to your whole user base with no warning is obviously bad. I understand the purpose of the rewrite and see the potential, but right now the update removed features for a better UI which I don't care about. I'm leaving this 2 star review up until feature parity with 3.6.9, when that happens I'm gonna go back to the 5 star this extension deserved. This could have been easily managed with a popup from the extension, warning about 4.0, showing for 1 month before rollout. I lost all my history older than the 500 most recent and if only I knew about the upcoming update I could have preserved it. In your v4 faq you list most of the missing features, not listed are: 1) Bring back the filtering functionality. New search is great, but I often used the filter to highlight specific tabs in "This browser" while still seeing in what windows they were and in what position compared to other tabs. I know search is gonna be enabled in the future for "This browser", but it does a different job. A setting could be added for the filtering feature, instead of having it enabled by default. 2) Support more than 500 snapshots. I imagine this is a MV3 limitation with IndexedDB, but my understating is that the only limitation on space used by IndexedDB is 75% of total disk space. Why max 500 then? If it's a IndexedDB performance limitation consider using SQLite Wasm https://developer.chrome.com/blog/sqlite-wasm-in-the-browser-backed-by-the-origin-private-file-system 3) Duplicates selection logic. I really like the new duplicate detection, previously I used a workaround with empty collections to do the same. I would prefer if it selected all the duplicates though. Right now it selects only the most recent duplicates ignoring the first match, but the most recent ones are not always the ones to be deleted. At least make this behaviour a setting. 4) Option to open tabs instantly. The slow opening of tabs makes sense on lower end devices, but a higher end pc could handle opening hundreds of tabs in the old version with no issue. Right now someone with a strong device has to wait for no reason. (in your v4 faq you say "intentionally omitted due to low usage". Have you considered that power user are probably blocking google analytics so you may have a skewed perspective on some features usage?)
