Search the web. Plant trees. Power the planet.
Ecosia is more than just a search engine - it’s a simple way to take climate action every day. Just by browsing the internet, you can help plant trees in biodiversity hotspots, support local communities, and combat climate change.
🌳Search with purpose
Like other search engines, Ecosia earns money from ads. But unlike them, we use 100% of our profits to fund climate action. Over 230 million trees have already been planted across 35+ countries, restoring landscapes and saving wildlife.
🔒 Your data stays yours
We only collect what's needed to deliver search results, and your searches are always encrypted. — We want trees, not your data.

At first I didn't want Ecosia because I thought it was just something that people were trying to make money off of for themselves. And I just got it so I'm still a little suspicious but not as much as before. The only thing they could work on is lowering the average searches you need for one tree. I know that there are a LOT of people out there on Ecosia all searching a bunch of different things, but maybe lowering the search counter to about 30 or so for a single tree, would make everyone who installs Ecosia in the future a little more pleased.
i love the meaning of ecosia I will definitely be using this more than Google!
Phenomenal cause, I love seeing this company continue to grow and improve. I joined at 20 million trees and just over a year later they're almost to 60 million. A phenomenal way to put restoration in the hands of the public.
Ecosia is a great search engine. You can search the web to plant trees which is really helpful to the enviroment. It is free and you just need to press a button and you don't even need to make an account like google and chrome. It has good quality and is a great way to help the enviroment. It has also removed websites that you can't trust like wikipedia. So try it out today and help the rainforests grow and expand for free!
LOVE it. Only one complaint; I don't know how to add shortcuts to my Ecosia new tab menu thing.
non seulement c'est pratique mais en plus éco-responsable. le moteur de recherche tant rêvé. excellente initiative je partage autour de moi
This is the best extension on the chrome web store, it plants trees every-time you search, saving the environment without an extra effort. Only downside is sometimes less irrelevant ads are shown above what you actually are looking for, which is a VERY small price to pay for helping to save the planet. Nothing beats this, thank you ecosia for your amazing work!
Living > Google. Not a tough choice.
