This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

It would be nice if this was a popup that opens when you look something up because chatGPT isn't always the best way to get information and I don't want to have to turn it off every time I want to use google for something

The extension is good but me personally i want it to be like a ui that pops up everytime i want to search something up while im already in a website
On the plus side, it's a neat option to have in cases where I'm after technical steps, a specific quote, or a quick fact. But for the bulk rest of my Internet searches I consider this extension to be crippling for multiple reasons. There are no focused results tabs, like: images/videos/shopping. It changed the default chrome tab/page, making it useless for my purposes, assuming to renaming my saved links without allowing me to edit, fix, reorder. And now all my inane queries show up as conversations in my chatGPT (enterprise account). gross, no. I tried it out for 2 days, but removed it. OpenAI, it can be made better.
