This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

I agree with the other low reviews as to what would change this one star to a five. I would add that it would be nice to have a key combo for ChatGPT search (I suggest command or control + enter) to search using one or the other of two search engines. I personally would like to use the key combo to do a ChatGPT search, but keep Google as the default search.... at least until the suggestions of the other low reviews get implemented.
I am using the chrome extension and I have it pinned to the toolbar. Its gat great better results. Here are two recommendations 1) keep search results separate from the chat list. 2) The needs to be a way to disable the extension quickly OR have ChatGPT results in a side bar along with google/bing/yahoo results. e.g. I want to look up a restaurant and use maps, with the extension enabled that's a long process but with a side bar I get google maps and review with the ChatGPT sidebar also giving me its results but I can now interact with the Gpt-sidebar about place, food, vibe, discounts etc. Gpt being interactive, I can ask further questions. e.g. I am looking up the live results for a Soccer match, google/bing/yahoo results do that better because the update in real-time then I can interact with the Gpt-chat sidebar about previous stats like the last 10 head to head encounters etc. and have a chat. I think, I am leaning more to a sidebar experience :)
This would replace google search for me if it just allowed searches to be temporary chats or if chat gpt had literally any organizational tools for chats. Will 5 star it if you just add those simple UI/UX

Not usable at all, it opens ChatGPT all the time.
Ломает новую вкладку по умолчанию , сделайте как у гугл подсказки в адресной строке там арифметика, погода, гугл, научите сайт сразу к началу последнего ответа переходить, сделайте прокрутку на клавиши, и стройте какое то подобие списка ссылок гугл которые можно открыть сразу все на клавишу
I would rather have a similar experience to Google, with a new separate tab or pop-up that is not inside my ChatGPT current chats, as that messes up my organization there. At least it should be a draft chat that doesn't get saved.
Doesn't do the bare minimum. This is supposed to enable ChatGPT Search, but all it does is send my address bar searches to GPT-4o and gives me chat answers.
