This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

Use TopTab Search as a default search engine
I'm all for chatGPT and I want chat GPT search to be the next best thing but this is bad. It's currently down right now after release making my browser limited to finding any information from the internet without typing "google.com". Not a good launch at all from OpenAI. Search also needs its own interface, simplicity and usability not just redirect to a ChatGPT chat.
Just truly not there yet. It's slower than google, the results are less accurate and it doesn't "just get you" like google would. Needs work.
I would like the option to have it as a search engine option in the omni-bar, but not HAVE TO have it as the Default
The system feels slower and lacks the ability to perform basic mathematical operations directly. It tends to provide full explanations rather than functioning as a search tool. At times, I’m looking to navigate to specific websites, but the system prioritizes providing answers instead of directing me to relevant web pages. This can be frustrating when the goal is to access a website rather than receive a detailed response.
good for start, but still not ready for everyday using

The concept is there. It deserves more time in the oven. I mirror the requests of other users to implement a functionality to make searches temporary chats (possibly toggleable). As it stands, more simple search endeavors take longer than they realistically should for the reason of ChatGPT having to search for and interpret the results before sharing. Allowing asking ChatGPT to require a redirect instead of Google, or at least having the redirect method be more customizable, would be preferrable. "g! [query]" is just outside the realm of "comfortable to type quickly" to make the feature as useful as it could be. I really like this idea. I want to see it get better.
google search killer
2,5 really. A bit slow, of course. Should also allow for selecting whether I want a google or chatgpt search directly when searching.
