This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

An option to control whether to use Chatgpt in this search is required
Despite the fact I am not a huge fan of Google search, given other alternatives with less ad pollution, e.g. perplexity. chatgpt suffers from efficiency and performance. for search engine we need light speed responses from various sources. There is no single source usually in response to a search query in general.
Would love a way to have all searches in one conversation, so I didn't get a million conversations in ChatGPT. Have given me good results thus far.
I love this idea, but would also like to see links to pages (such as google search) at the bottom of the generated chatgpt text - or have the text in a sidebar with the main window being standard search results
Great Idea. Meh execution. Honestly, Thomas Toa's Smart Search (https://github.com/irgb/smart-search) has a better strategy and is a better solution. His "Word Count Threshold" is the secret sauce that adds the " 95% of the time, it just does what I would have wanted" usability and makes all the difference. Nice job T.
Non funziona su Fedora ed il fatto che non sia attivabile o meno in base a specifiche ricerche e che non si possa impostare che le ricerche vadano tutte in una cartella dedicata lo rende, a mio avviso, decisamente poco "usabile". Ho provato su un pc windows ed in specifici casi rallenta e danneggia l'esperienza di navigazione web.
Using ChatGPT Search for all queries felt boring, slow, and lacked a clear result list. The open-source search routing plugin Smart Search ( https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/smart-search/afdjfknkcnildioigkobmbjakfnggolp ) solved my problem perfectly! It intelligently routes longer queries or those starting with "chat" to ChatGPT, while defaulting to Google for everything else. Efficient and seamless!
