This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

not working in Chrome on Ubuntu. The extension is grayed out in the list of extensions, and does nothing. I tried in Chrome on macOS, and it was working as expected there.

Doesn't do anything basically, fix your stuff.
I was expecting a window popup would come up on the side with the searches. And the fact that it adds a new tab on chatgpt page is really inconvenient for me when I have other tabs that I keep with different topics of conversations. This flods the side bar. Small change but would make a huge impact for me. Add a seperate area for the searches and have them located in a different area from the other conversations.

Useless. After searching on the address bar, it just takes you to the regular ChatGPT interface, so it is the same as just using ChatGPT, except that it removes google functionality from the address bar.
No on/off toggle kinda takes the *omni* out of the omnibar. This plugin is fantastic when you want to use it, which for me is about 50% of the time, which can become frustrating. That said, the fact that LLMs have become what they are today and widely available for free or a nominal fee, is in of itself, miraculous.
This doesn't work at all in latest chrome version!
