This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

Use TopTab Search as a default search engine
This makes no sense.
Not practical as a search engine. You already now that openai. Build something we need
It didn't work on my Pixelbook (the google laptop). I restarted the computer, I looked into setting the default search engine, and it is not listed.
Half baked? No. It's raw. All it does is redirect to the chatgpt site and paste the query normally. ChatGPT doesnt seem to know it's doing a web search.
Not a good extension .
Sometimes I am looking for a website result because I don't want to bookmark a website, rather than looking up; but other than that this is great and gets done 95% of what I actually search for.
I would like to be able to call up ChatGPT's search quickly with the extension, but still have another search engine as my default. The ChatGPT Search doesn't fully behave as we've come to expect a search engine to, providing the same mixture of results. I'm not able to find a link to take me directly to the search, something that would be helpful to put on my toolbar. It's definitely helpful in many use cases!
There is a glaring issue with this extension that I am quickly coming to understand. For simply looking up information, this extension is fantastic. But if you're looking for a specific tool or website and don't know the exact url to type it in yourself? You have to turn the extension off. In the last hour, I've had to turn this extension on and off 8 times. I knew the NAMES of what I was looking for, but not the exact website. You could ask ChatGPT to find it for you. But in a recent case, ChatGPT didn't know what I was looking for. I was looking for a tool to troubleshoot connectivity to a specific website, but ChatGPT kept linking and sending me information about the status page instead. Essentially, if you're looking for very specific information but have a vague understanding of how to get there. ChatGPT is going to take a guess. Which is inferior to using keyword search and looking at your options and having that moment where you're like "yes! This one is exactly what I'm looking for."
Amazing!
