The EU regulations require that any website using tracking cookies must get user's permission before installing them. Imagine how irritating that becomes when you surf anonymously or if you delete cookies automatically every time you close the browser.
In most cases, it just blocks or hides cookie related pop-ups. When it's needed for the website to work properly, it will automatically accept the cookie policy for you (sometimes it will accept all and sometimes only necessary cookie categories, depending on what's easier to do). It doesn't delete cookies.

I am writing to report a recurring issue I've encountered while using the "I don't care about cookies" extension on Chrome, specifically when accessing Google Workspace (workspace.google.com). Description of the Issue: While the extension is active, I have noticed that certain pages within Google Workspace (https://workspace.google.com/business/signup/welcome) do not load correctly or exhibit unexpected behavior. This issue has persisted despite various troubleshooting efforts, including clearing browser cache and cookies. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Ensure the "I don't care about cookies" extension is enabled in Chrome. 2. Visit [https://workspace.google.com/business/signup/welcome]. 3. Observe the malfunction or error in page loading or functionality. Impact: This issue significantly disrupts my workflow and it maybe affects other pages too. I have spent approximately two hours trying to debug and find a workaround for this issue without success, which has been quite frustrating. This addon is great but it got bought by a company that was fined for collecting and selling private data from their users. Use that information however you like but I'd recommend you to switch to the open source fork "I still don't care about cookies".
Very nice if it does what it says - I don't know if it automatically accepts cookies but it says it does. The reason I'm saying that is that on myanimelist.net it did not let me click anything on the site until I noticed that I had to disable this extension, then reload the page and accept the cookies manually. I could then reenable the extension
