Protect My Choices is an extension for users seeking to opt out of interest-based advertising and to help ensure that their opt-out choices are protected. In one step it opts your browser out of interest-based advertising performed by companies participating in the industry self-regulatory programme for online advertising, and protects those opt-out choices by helping to prevent the accidental deletion of cookies that store your choices.
Some things you should know:
1. Protect My Choices applies to interest-based advertising by participating companies. Once you install this extension you will still receive online advertising from participating companies and the web sites you visit may still collect information for other purposes.
2. As more companies join the industry self-regulatory programme, their opt-outs will be added to Protect My Choices. As with all Chrome extensions, you’ll be asked to allow Chrome to update the extension to add new opt-outs. If you do not update the extension it will be disabled until you update it. You can confirm that your opt-outs have been set at http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. You can always check the status of your extensions by clicking Extensions in the Window menu.
3. This extension and your opt-out choices apply only in this browser, so you should set your preferences for other browsers or computers you may use separately.

Absolument inutile. Les publicités sont toujours ciblées malgré l'extension activée. C'est d'autant plus idiot que si j'achète un billet d'avion, j'ai plein de pubs pour des voyages APRÈS, alors que j'ai déjà mon billet.
Does not work. USELESS
It's stable and functions as intended, but it's not actually effective because too many advertisers do not honour the opt-out. End result is - still getting loads of creepy stalking going on in the adverts I see on-line. So I use a total ad blocker instead.
Not sure that this App works. Still getting directed Ads from Amazon!
Made ads problems even worse!! Some take over page! FORGET IT PEOPLE!
Ça ne fonctionne pas, je reçois toujours le mêmes choses, il faudrait le nommer: Don't Protect My choices ou Protect google's choices
It was okay, the operative word being WAS. Unfortunately, after a few months it WASN'T okay. Whenever I need to reload or refresh a page (it doesn't happen often, but it does happen) my saved 'opt-outs' were lost. Sometimes rebooting my system would bring them back, sometimes it wouldn't and I'd have to re-enter everything, only to lose it all again whenever I needed to refresh/reload again.. I now feel like this app added me to do it's work for it, when it should be the other way around. It no longer works as advertised and so I'm uninstalling it.
As said previously, doesn't seem to work; will therefore disable extension in a minute.
