Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

Works perfect!
I like this extension, but I have to reinstall it every time i restart my computer. Every "new tab" exension that I try (five so far) has the same problem... it only works for one day. I just wish that google would stop making the new tab go to the apps page... I don't like the omnibox, i like the full fledged google search... so I guess I just have to reinstall a new extension every day.

It works everywhere except on my Windows (8.1) machine :'( Please fix it!
I found it frustrating that google hadn't thought it should have such a simple capability as allowing the user to set what was presented when a new tab was created. This extension solves what was, to me, an obvious lack of foresight on their part. Does what it says and in a simple, helpful manner.
