Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

Had to stop using this great extension because each time Google Chrome crashes the extension hides the "Restore" button making sessions "unrestorable" after a crash. Until this major bug is fixed I have to stop using this to avoid losing my session.

the problem is that i type more quicker in url bar that the site loads, so its overwrites my first typed letters... its not confortable. But the plugin is good. thanks .
Thank goodness for this extension - this fixed what I hated about the new Chrome update.
Works fine for those who want to start with a specific page in a new tab. However for those who just like to start with a blank new tab, the only option is to specify about:blank and the cursor will be placed after the text "about:blank", which prevents you from start typing an URL straight away.
Thanks, the new Chrome "New Tab" page is awful. I like the old "New Tab" page and this let me change it back.

Works exactly as described! I set my new tabs to go to chrome://apps/ and it works just like it did before the update.
