Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

Works great, however there should be an option for the keyboard to automatically start off on the omnibar like with the default new tab.

WOW! Just Great! I hated the new tab page because it was unorganised. So i tried this app out, I loved it! You can get it to redirect to any page you want, not only the Google Page. Sick as!
BE CAREFUL! - this extension added a malware/spam pop-up in the lower right of my browser screen.
5 stars when this plugin focuses address bar when you set new tab as your bookmarks. Now it's pretty annoying as the focus goes to the search field of bookmarks.
Works perfectly. Why this isn't built-in setting in Chrome I don't know.
Works exactly as advertised, and does a fine job. As it is, the homepage used is in the extension's own options, and is thus not copied by Sync. It'd be nice if they'd just use whatever you've filled in as Chrome's "Homepage".
Why is this not already a standard option in Google Chrome? We're on version 17 of the browser already and you still have to use an extension to set your new tab's initial page. One of the few things that IE has over Chrome (there's not many!). Thanks to you Jim for sorting this out for us! You're a hero.
It works great, and I love this addon, but I wish it did not have so many features. All I need is addon which redirects the new tab page to a custom URL. This one does that, but it is also filled with quick settings, letting you redirect to other 'popular' pages. To me, this is bloat that really isn't necessary.
This is excellent.
