Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

I LOVED this extension. Before the updates. Now it takes literally a minute for a new tab to load. I have no choice but to look elsewhere. Too many new permissions and tasks.
"Dunno about all this new permission stuff, but new tabs should open with blank URLs. Currently I open chrome://apps but I have to delete that every time i open a newtab" I'm having the same exact issue, and have disabled it as a result. It's a shame because I was loving it until this happened. It really slows down my productivity to have to have to delete that url to do a search or type in another URL.

after chrome update v.34 etension don't mark url bar on new tab, when i start printing, letters append my default url

It used to automatically highlight the omnibar for easy searching, but now the cursor appears after the tab url.
