Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

Tiene un troyano.
Reading the version 3.1 update notes, it reminded me how developers are often so unappreciated for their highly-skilled and demanding work. This extension is excellent, and it's clear to see how conscientious and trustworthy the developer is. I cannot recommend it enough. 5 stars!
This was great until the update yesterday. Now the cursor focus on a new tab changes to the end of the address bar, and it's not highlighted. It used to automatically go to the Google search bar (with Google as my default new window), or at the very least, highlight the URL so a search could be easily done. I hope this gets fixed soon!
I've had this extension running for years and it's just in the background, worked perfectly like good software should and I took it for granted. I appreciate the hard work so I'm not going to leave a bad review but the 3.1 update moved the cursor to the URL or Omnibox instead of the Google search bar and I'm all out of whack now. Please fix this soon. Thanks again
It works. Props to Jim for dealing with all the haters.
wish I could just new tab and type still but the url is no longer highlighted... hope this will change soon. great app other than that!
New Tab redirect is awsome ,but what i dont like in new 3.1 version is when i redirect to http://google.rs for example the cursor stays in the adress bar (up there),not in the google search bar...so i have to manually click down into the google search bar...and this is the reason why i installed New Tab redirect at first..because cursor stucks in upper adress bar in Chrome default new tab screen.I wish this could be fixed!I think version 3.0 didnt have this problem!
Great app. Would it be possible to have the option to center all the apps on the "default" page like the standard "chrome://apps" page? Also, is there anyway to add a dropdown similar to the old "recently closed tabs" that the old default chrome home had?
I absolutely love this New Tab Redirect Extension. People need to quit complaining about additions to this program, so what about permissions. If you don't like em then make your own extensions!
c'est vrai que c'est pas très élégant mais pratique (une technique : ouvrez sur chrome://apps/ pour avoir votre thème avec )
