With the Stream Recorder, you can easily save live and archived videos that are delivered in a typical HLS (m3u8) format.
Even more, if the video file type is in an mp4 format, you can record videos directly using the unique video capture function.
Downloaded audio and video data is converted to mp4 as it is with the same quality without re-encoding.
This conversion is done inside the extension, without the use of an external server.
Please note that Stream Recorder is not responsible for media content which you download, so we suggest to ensure the copyright and permissions of the media before downloading.

Capture mode doesn't really work. Says it downloaded many minutes, I clicked save, and yet the video downloaded was only a couple seconds long.
It works for now and I hope will do it in the future.

It's the first one extension I encounter that actually does retrieve the clips that I have been looking to retrieve for a long time. Others only promised they would. Great! Actually, I don't give 5 stars for a not really user-friendly respectively understandable user interaction. When I click the button for the extension, it opens up a new tab in Chrome, with a barely comprehensible explanation, and a 'thermometer' showing the progress. I'd actually prefer a small widget being pulled down from the icon that allows to select quality, observe progress, and finally stores by default in a predefined location.
