Works well, has some more natural sounding voices than other options. Can highlight text in browser and right click to bring up the option to read. Highlights text in a pop out box as it reads.
I have had read aloud for a few years but recently I started having problems with it activating. So I went in search of another extension to replace it. I tried several before coming upon this one! I have been using it for only two days but I have put it through the tests and I must say it performs far better than any of the others I have tried so it is now my new go to reader and the voices are much less robotic sounding and don't mispronounce names as badly as so many of the alternatives! I am quite enjoying this extension and so far I have not run into any "maximum free reading has been reached" like the last several I tried out!!
When I say, this is my at home teacher- I mean this is really helping me get through college. With ADHD I have a tendency of reading ahead or way too fast to even process what I read. The auto reader helps me read what I miss, I've been doing better. However I wish sooner or later there will be an update for a 3.5x speed, or more. 3.0 isn't enough sometimes. Love the text reader though.
App reads great; App could be better if it came up on the right/menu clicking on the page to start reading here.
Excellent extension!
Have been trying out several text-to-speech extensions, including ReadAloud, Natural Reader and Speechify, but am still on the lookout for one that fits my requirements. Found this one, and am currently putting it throught its paces. First thing I noticed is that it is very similar to Read Aloud with a slightly different control panel layout. It is also without a dark mode option, which is a MUST HAVE due to my aging eyesight and sensitivity to bright lights/screens. The following additional features and improvements are needed to make it a more attractive choice: (i) Option to change font size, paragraph width and alignment of the text in the pop up/window; (ii) Option to change the highlight color (one for the sentence, and another for the word being read, or perhaps underscoring it). (iii) Change of design/layout as having two separate panels - a horizontal read control panel and a vertical options/settings panel- unnecessarily takes up useful space.
Very useful and easy to use, doesn't set a limit on use or ask you to pay for anything. Very user friendly, only thing is the voices could be better quality, however there are lots of options that range in more-to-less robotic like.
