This used to be great but now it's not sending text messages. This is a major bummer
The extension is no longer able to send text messages - it says "please try again". You cannot make calls directly from the extension anymore, it takes you to the dashboard on the google voice page. Whats the point of having quick access in the extension, if nothing works?
Loved it for years, but now that calling directly from the extension has been removed, it's useless as all other features have been moved to the Hangouts extension. I've been hoping that calling (via phone) would be moved to the hangouts extension for months, but no sign of it. :(

Google appears to have stopped supporting this extension. As other reviewers note, you can't reply to texts within the extension anymore which was perhaps the single more used feature other than reading texts. You can still read them. The Google Voice blog hasn't been updated since 2013 and Google Fi does not have full google voice integration so it makes you guess what Google is up to with their Google Voice product going forward.
App no longer works, and hasn't for months. Google is clearly trying to deprecate another product people use, without feeling the need to say so.
As others have said, this is broken now. Can't send texts with "Please try again" Update 12/27/19: Just got an update! And it still doesn't work :(
It no longer sends text messages, instead of sending a message it just says "Please Try Again" - it has stopped working for about 3 months now.
I'm guessing Google must be trying to kill this extension. Let me help with this 1-star review. It used to be amazing; now it won't even send a simple SMS message!
