after a long search of different file formats, conversion tools (even from aspose) and plugins, finally came across this one. Works like a charme! Downloads a single html file (NOT mhtml), that includes everything needed to show the website correctly even without a connection. Also works with more complex websites like the confluence login-page. 4 stars is a underratement.

SingleFile is an extension you never thought you needed it very much. I am using this addon since late 2018 and never felt it is was irrelevant. If you want to save webpages offline as it is in a format like HTML to read them easily with same browser or any HTML reader software, then this is an extension you need. I have mailed dev several times, and he responded back and resolved my queries, so another point there. And now, this is for dev, please provide some extension-wise support for extensions/formats like mht and mhtml, which are just like html webpage saved offline but it is in mht and mhtml. There is an extension for reading ebooks like EpubPup - EPUB Reader and pdf readers but nothing for mht and mhtml formats.I have tons of mht and mhtml files saved since 2015 and cant find any software or extension to read them easily in same format as it was downloaded. And since IE browser being discontinued, it is impossible as it used to support that. Also, Mozilla Archive Format and UnMHT are long gone so no way out. So, I am requesting you to provide some relief for readers like us to read webpages saved in the form of an extension as you did with this singlefile extension. Thanks.

It will work simply enough for the average user to download an html, but the average user is likely better off with Evernote and the the Chrome extension that lets you use a complete or ad-filtered view. Evernote for personal use is the most automated for personal use viewing but is free only up to 60mb. I haven't seen a one-file type extension that does filtered views yet, but it may be out there. Another work around is to use a Reader View extension that filters automatically before exporting. The extension called "Reader View" by readerview.freeonlineapps.net or the one by yokris.dev will create a single file and filter out images/ads faster than SingleFile. SingleFile wouldn't install in my Chrome offshoot browser which takes most extensions. Best for more advanced users with specific needs that its extensive options might suit.
