Overview

Product summary

Review the store description, core capabilities, and common use cases.

Make sure to use Chrome version 84+ with this extension, otherwise the automatic selection of the locationbar text doesn't work.

Since Google updated Chrome to version 29, the App overview is no longer shown, when opening a new tab. This extension restores that behaviour to the way it was.

Tip: the keyboard shortcut CTRL+L (Windows/Linux) or CMD+L (macOS) highlights the URL.

v.3.0.0

* Upgraded to manifest V3. The rest of the extension code is exactly the same as version 2.1.0. Please bear in mind that the display of the apps is handled by internal Chrome code. This means that this extension has no influence over how that looks.

* Fixed a bug so that the address bar is highlighted again

This is exactly what I want besides the omni bar issue. If it is possible I think a simple fix would be to automatically select all the text in the omni bar. That way when someone starts typing it will be replaced. Bingo problem solved.

Thank you for this extension! I missed this feature so much when Google puzzlingly removed it that I am willing to put up with clearing the text in the omnibar every time and put up with when Chrome sometimes fails to reopen old tabs (after a crash/unexpected reboot). If these two fixes are even technically possible, I would pay to see them implemented. Just throwing that out there.

Absolute shite. Need to hit backspace to delete the content of the URL bar every time I open a tab. This guy needs to learn to test.

Only just installed it a minute ago, and it just works! Yippee! I disagree with the next person's assessment that we have to remove the text, as it's highlighted upon opening a new tab and starting to write erases it. Also, the simplicity of getting things to work by accessing a URL means there's no weird or tricky overhead hidden from the user.
