Overview

Product summary

Review the store description, core capabilities, and common use cases.

Make sure to use Chrome version 84+ with this extension, otherwise the automatic selection of the locationbar text doesn't work.

Since Google updated Chrome to version 29, the App overview is no longer shown, when opening a new tab. This extension restores that behaviour to the way it was.

Tip: the keyboard shortcut CTRL+L (Windows/Linux) or CMD+L (macOS) highlights the URL.

v.3.0.0

* Upgraded to manifest V3. The rest of the extension code is exactly the same as version 2.1.0. Please bear in mind that the display of the apps is handled by internal Chrome code. This means that this extension has no influence over how that looks.

* Fixed a bug so that the address bar is highlighted again

As others have mentioned, please add an option to clear the omnibox when a new tab is created. Otherwise I love it! Thank you!

Fantastic, can't understand why Google took this useful and optional feature away. This extension brings it back. Can you automatically highlight the URL text ?so we can use the omnibox without deleting the address first

Picked it up for the sole reason of having my omnibox text highlighted when I hit Ctrl + T, apparently this one doesn't have it either.

Needs to auto highlight "chrome://apps" in the omni bar or at least let the user type into a blank omnibar straight away without needing to backspace to get rid of "chrome://apps".

Almost have my Chrome experience back. The only problem is that I have a URL in the omnibar that doesn't get automatically overwritten when I start typing.

I really appreciate you not only making this app, but going back and fixing it so that the cursor now automatically selects the omnibar again. But I still have to ask, is it possible to have the omnibar automatically clear itself after the redirect to the 'apps' page? Or at least highlight all, just whatever so that I can immediately begin typing after I ctrl + T. Such a silly little thing, but it annoys me(and obviously others) at least a dozen separate times a day. So I'd just like to know what the feasibility of such a thing is.
