Since Google updated Chrome to version 29, the App overview is no longer shown, when opening a new tab. This extension restores that behaviour to the way it was.
Tip: the keyboard shortcut CTRL+L (Windows/Linux) or CMD+L (macOS) highlights the URL.
v.3.0.0
* Upgraded to manifest V3. The rest of the extension code is exactly the same as version 2.1.0. Please bear in mind that the display of the apps is handled by internal Chrome code. This means that this extension has no influence over how that looks.
* Fixed a bug so that the address bar is highlighted again

Thanks for bringing back the app view without over-engineering the extension. Just one small thing that annoys me: when you open a new tap, the cursor is already in the omnibar. Result: instead of marking and overwriting "chrome://apps/" you write your search term right behind it.
Для меня Chrome становится все хуже и хуже. Постоянно ищу плагины возвращающие назад последние кошмарные изменения. Плагин не решает проблемы. URL chrome://apps не выделяется, поэтому много ошибок когда начинаешь писать адрес
I like the idea behind this extension. However, it would so much better if the omnibar was automatically cleared when a new tab was created via ctrl-t. I've disabled it in the meantime, but I will use it in the future if this feature is ever added and give it the higher rating it potentially deserves.
Omnibar not clearing is pretty annoying, but bigger usability issue is that I rely on Chrome to open all my old tabs when it reloads. This extension causes the "Do you wish to restore tabs?" question to disappear (because it changes the page) before you have an opportunity to restore the tabs. It was really cool until I started losing all my tabs when rebooting.
Please fix the omnibar problem.
Awesome, but the only problem is that when Chrome was not normally closed, the Restore Tabs button appears for only a split second and cannot be clicked. Hope it gets fixed soon. Other than that, awesome as I said.
Yes, it restores the apps page, but it also fills the omnibar. Not really handy, since we need to remove the text EVERY SINGLE TIME before we start a search.
"chrome://apps/" now appears on the omnibar. I can't just type my queries after pressing ctrl+T, I have to erase that url first...
Luv the function, hated having to uninstall it because it contained the Superfish/Super Shopper AD Ware
The omni-bar no longer auto-clears or gets selected - so you have to clear the address bar manually before typing. Extension hasn't been updated in a while, so I wouldn't hold out hope for a fix...
