Overview

Product summary

Review the store description, core capabilities, and common use cases.

Make sure to use Chrome version 84+ with this extension, otherwise the automatic selection of the locationbar text doesn't work.

Since Google updated Chrome to version 29, the App overview is no longer shown, when opening a new tab. This extension restores that behaviour to the way it was.

Tip: the keyboard shortcut CTRL+L (Windows/Linux) or CMD+L (macOS) highlights the URL.

v.3.0.0

* Upgraded to manifest V3. The rest of the extension code is exactly the same as version 2.1.0. Please bear in mind that the display of the apps is handled by internal Chrome code. This means that this extension has no influence over how that looks.

* Fixed a bug so that the address bar is highlighted again

Thank you! I hate that google forces your most recently visited pages on the new tab. Not cool. Been waiting for something like this.

1. When opening new tab, it would be vital to cleanup URL (chrome://apps/) so I can instantly search for anything I want without need to delete URL :) 2. Would be wonderful to implement "Recently Closed tabs" and "Other Devices." Anyway thank you very much, it is wonderful to have apps tab back! :)

Does the job, but adds the extra "click on the omnibox to search" gesture on macs. This defeats the whole purpose of this app for me, since it's suppose to save me the extra click to show apps.

The only thing I could see to make this better is clear out the omnibar so we don't have to erase chrome://apps

If your Chrome crashes, this extension will redirect you to your apps tab before you can press "restore" and you lose the restore option completely. Might need to address that.
