Overview

Product summary

Review the store description, core capabilities, and common use cases.

Make sure to use Chrome version 84+ with this extension, otherwise the automatic selection of the locationbar text doesn't work.

Since Google updated Chrome to version 29, the App overview is no longer shown, when opening a new tab. This extension restores that behaviour to the way it was.

Tip: the keyboard shortcut CTRL+L (Windows/Linux) or CMD+L (macOS) highlights the URL.

v.3.0.0

* Upgraded to manifest V3. The rest of the extension code is exactly the same as version 2.1.0. Please bear in mind that the display of the apps is handled by internal Chrome code. This means that this extension has no influence over how that looks.

* Fixed a bug so that the address bar is highlighted again

It's almost perfect. It would be nice if the URL of the new tab was either blank or the "chrome://apps" was highlighted. The way it is now when a new tab opens, my cursor is at the end of ...apps. I have to highlight the URL and delete to do a search

Works fine except it puts "chrome://apps/" into the address bar. Is there a way to have it just show a blank address bar?

Looks better than Google's updated version, but there is no recently closed or most visited in this extension. That was the main reason for downloading this. Well at least it looks nice.

Does what it says, however, I would like it to also still show the bookmarks bar above the apps...

Great to have the old behaviour back. One thing is that when creating a new tab, the address bar is filled with the chrome: apps address, which doesn't autoselect - this makes it so if you just keep typing to go to where you wish, you normally accidentally end up with chrome://appswhereIwantedtogo. This is a tad annoying, but useable. Perhaps the developer could add a 'select everything in menubar' as the last command in his code?

is there a way to auto-clear the omnibar? so users can quickly ctrl+t to search
