When you pause a YouTube video, the player controls don't disappear. That makes it really hard to take a clean screenshot of the video. The controls also block your view, which can get really annoying. Hyde is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to hide or show the video player controls easily.
⭐ Simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M to hide the controls or show them again. ⭐

Did it stop working as of 7-Sep-2023?
Been wanting this my whole life.
doesnt work on video on google drive with youtube player
was recording and taking screenshots of a youtube video, this helped!
Seems to work. Why isn't this or something like it a default on YouTube? It is very basic UX usability. When I pause something, I want to look at the screen, so why cover it up? I consider this a bug, and this extension the workaround.
On firefox, there are options to tweak the behaviour of the extension. There I have it set show mouse in fullscreen only when hovering the mouse. This chrome version isn't customizable at all. Please consider adding it.
Great extension. But another extension "Improve YouTube!' 🎧 (for YouTube & Videos" can do the same and much more while being open source.
Simple and works great
does it exactly what it says
Not work for me..
