When you pause a YouTube video, the player controls don't disappear. That makes it really hard to take a clean screenshot of the video. The controls also block your view, which can get really annoying. Hyde is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to hide or show the video player controls easily.
⭐ Simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M to hide the controls or show them again. ⭐

CTRL+M to hide YT video controls on Chrome, Priceless for video lectures. Wish to expand it to other browsers. Great job, guys.
This is actually so useful, its so simple yet so useful extension. Thanks
On a Mac, you have to press command+M, not control+M to make the display go away.
Its very good extension. just hope can change default shortcut key to my own shortcut. because ctrl+m is not best shortcut for me.
It only hides the bar, but does not hide the most annoying control (the giant play button at the center)...
Work perfectly for me in Windows 10 Build 19042. This is so helpful for detailed screens for tutorials. Thanks so much. Why in the world would this not be the default behavior for Youtube (hide controls after pause X seconds or mouse off)? I think it is for mobile.
No dice. Ctrl+m does nothing.
Works perfectly!!! Thanks very much. Could you support embedded youtube players in other websites as well?
