Didn't work at all....Finally ran as administrator and got it to work on a usb stick then stuck it in the chromebook I was trying to format and after saying it reformatted it then told me it's still ran by my kids school and wouldn't unlock. What's the point in reformatting if it is still 100% locked down. Had to toss the brand new chromebook in the trash. Google is such a waste of money. I will always stick with Windows in the future and always have.
When I attempt to erase a recovery media, Chrome and the application crashes. Furthermore, when creating a recovery media, after step 3 verifying, when it reaches around the 90% range, it crashes. Please fix as soon as possible, I am an IT Technician needing to reinstall Chrome OS on several different Chromebooks that does respond to Chrome OS reset.

Purtroppo anche io ho avuto i problemi descritti. Per fortuna il Chromebook è ripartito da solo altrimenti stavo ancora a provare. Peccato, da google non te l'aspetti !
Crashes Chrome when it finishes downloading, but never actually completes the download. Useless.
Tool keep crashing chrome after it unpacks. Tried several different usb sticks, computers, and both local and downloaded bins

O Google deveria fazer isso fora do navegador, essa aplicação simplesmente não funciona corretamente e acaba fechando o seu browser sem a sua ordem e você perde todo conteúdo aberto
LG Chromebase 22CV241 - have have damaged RECOVERY IMAGE !!! - you need check all recovery image - for correct working. (utility download corrupted image - image not boot )
To everyone having issues I use Cloudready Home which is ChromeOS. Just download the 1.3GB ( Create a USB installer manually) https://www.neverware.com/freedownload#home-edition-install then go to chrome web store and get the chromebook recovery utility click on settings ( the cog wheel) and hit ( use local image.) I hope this helps
