Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.
What's New in 3.0:

* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

Doesn't work.
Why is this suddenly not default?
Works perfectly! Thank you for finally bringing it back. I was already on my way to switch to Edge EDIT: dropping from 5 to 2 stars, it does not work in flash games! Typing in a chat and hitting backspace drops me out of the game...
Why do I need to install an extension for a feature that was always there and could have just been put in the options menu?
Perfect. Although it would be a great idea now in 2016 to have a shortcut setting in the browser.
結局 ALT+← に慣れなかった。
Should've been an option in the settings.
Please consider adding a flag instead of an extension altogether. BKSP functionality is one of the most important features. Just become some dumb, inattentive users pressed BKSP while filling a form and lost all their data or whatever doesn't mean you will kill it altogether. Imagine the difficulty when you have standard functionality with all browsers and Chrome functions differently.
Thanks for providing a way to get this keyboardshortcut back.
