This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

Love it. Best dark mode for chrome. Doesn't invert photos or videos and doesn't flash to white when loading page as other extensions do.

Thank you! I HATE all these "modern" bright white site designs with no dark theme customization options like Google calendar. I like to cast my calendar tab via Chromecast on a large TV for my team to view. Now with Dark Reader I can implement my plan once again!

Works decently across most websites I visit, except YouTube, for some reason the 'dark mode' for youtube is just white with dodgy colours, I had to manually exclude youtube from the settings to get it to appear black. On its current set up, every website was black except for youtube. Also its not even optimized for facebook, it inverts parts which are already dark and makes them quite bright, like the top blue navigation bar turns pale bright blue, which is completely off putting, and you'd think this is the major priority to not implement since facebook is one of the most popular websites and they've taken care to not invert other parts. There's no fix for this either and I'm relying on an email responce from the creator now to fix this issue which is terrrible. Entirely unprofessional and I'm doubting if this extension is worth bothering with since these two big issues suggest the creators don't bother with it.
